It is low-carb diets safe for everyone?
Unless you're a hermit and live without the news, you must have heard about low-carb diets as the Atkins diet or South Beach diet plans. The underlying principle is that excess carbohydrates and fats that cause weight gain.
Under the advocates of carbohydrate diets that restrict carbohydrate intake of just 20 grams per day or less if better depending on the program. However, the Board of Food and Nutrition Institute of Medicine of the Academies of Sciences recommended that the daily allowance of carbohydrates for young adults may not be less than the minimum 100 grams.
Already in 2004, both of Atkins Nutritionals, and Dr. Barry Sears, creator of "The Zone", said its products are not recommended for these people and their only market programs for the elderly diet only. Dr. Arthur Agatston, author of the South Beach diet plan is recommended for young adults but he will skip the first phase of its program two weeks of introduction.
Drs. Michael and Mary Dan Eades, Protein Power maker, says its programs can be used in these young people always to begin in phase two. SugarBusters, which is less restrictive in terms of allowances of carbohydrates, has a specific plan for these young people.
The carbohydrates that are consumed in food are the main source of cellular energy and the central nervous system operation. But there is more than a year studies that measure the impact of the low-carbohydrate diets protein in the cardiovascular system. Until now, I still do not have enough evidence and the jury is still out.
