Ephedrine in the UK – legal status, and it is dangerous?
Guys, What is the legal status of ephedrine tablets now in the UK? My most up to date information is a medical reference book on drugs and medicines, and say that is available prescription. However, the book is a couple of years now, and I wondered if the legal status of ephedrine has now changed, here in the UK. It is also particulalry dangerous? Som I know people who have sent over here, and use it as a complement for the year – I also know that some people who use it as a space recreational drugs. "What is the general consensus on this? I want to be fully informed about all aspects of ephedrine in the United Kingdom before deciding whether or not to use it myself. If there are any doctors or pharmacists out there, you're input would be greatly appreciated!
Ephedrine is a sympathomimetic direct and indirect drug. In other words, is like a weak adrenaline. I use it on most other days in the hospital intravenously. When injected it increases heart rate and blood pressure. I can see no reason why it would be a recreational drug unless there are people out there who enjoy the feeling your heart racing. Besides, I really do not see much point in using it for training as they can produce the same effects through exercise. As that all drugs are dangerous in the wrong hands. Increases heart rate and blood pressure and may cause the user to have a heart attack or stroke brain if a high enough dose is given. I do not think it is a controlled drug, as it is not locked, but neither were ketamine until about a year ago.
